Let All Creation Praise
Let All Creation Praise is an initiative to provide resources for Christian worship to promote love of and care for God’s creation. They offer resources to help congregations learn to celebrate God’s love for creation, to worship God with creation, to help restore the relationship between nature and humans, and to foster love for God’s whole creation. They believe that care for creation should be integral to the life of all Christians and that it brings humans into the right relationship with God. -
Engaged Organizations: The Green Seminary Initiative
The Green Seminary Initiative is a program that encourages schools of theology to be participants and keepers of God’s creation. They provide strategies and guidance for theology schools to assist them in “greening” their buildings and lives. They believe that the religious community has a significant role in solving the human-caused environmental destruction and this process begins in schools. -
Engaged Organizations: Christian Food Movement
The Christian Food Movement combines discipleship, sustainability, health and justice in hopes to inspire conversation and collaboration about agriculture and providing food for all who need it. Their website is a guide to different Christian organizations that either provide information about sustainability producing food, or are a resource for those in need of food. They believe in loving and taking care of ones neighbor, no matter their faith. This is how and why this program was started and has since grown. In addition, their website offers a directory which can be used to find resources in any state. -
Creation Justice Ministries Downloadable Resources
Creation Justice Ministries offers downloadable resources to help educate on faith and climate change. They have resources on climate and energy, Earth Day, environmental health, and land & water stewardship. There is also a free download on how to build a creation friendly church. -
Engaged Organizations: Jewish Food Movement: Hazon
Hazon, which means vision, is an organization that works to create a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community. They do so through three effective changes: transformative experiences, thought-leadership, and capacity building. They are all intensive multi-day retreats or workshops that encourage people to make a difference in the world, and in the process enable them to renew their Jewish journeys. -
Engaged Organizations: National Religious Coalition on Creation Care
The National Religious Coalition on Creation Care is an organization that strives to meet four main goals: to hold conversations about the human responsibility to God and his creation, to provide a moral test for whether or not an action is right before God, to establish an easily communicated religious and spiritual basis for a just society, and to reveal a vision on how society must transform its attitude and become one with the ecosystem of the planet. They represent an array of religious denominations that are all united in certain principles concerning human responsibility toward God’s Creation. Their website includes resources for all lifestyles and perspectives that one may be searching for. -

Blessed Earth is an organization that inspires faithful stewardship of all creation. They believe that the Bible is the Word of God and holds wisdom for today and are motivated by the biblical mandate to care for God’s creation. They work on promoting actions that encourage responsible stewardship of resources, and they believe in building bridges within and beyond the church that serve the Kingdom and glorify God. They offer and promote educational materials, resources, events, and a monthly newsletter for creation care stories, tools, and links on their website. -
Engaged Organizations: Food, Faith, and Farming
Food, Faith, and Farming, previously known as Churches’ Center for Land and People, uses an interfaith collaboration approach to integrate earth stewardship, economic justice, community and spirituality around issues related to agriculture and food. They aim to strengthen rural life and the connection between farmers, their land, and their communities. They do so by offering a prayerful and spiritual perspective in rural communities, raising awareness of rural spirituality in our culture, and providing resources for those in church life and beyond. -
Engaged Organizations: United Religions Initiative
The United Religions Initiative is a coalition with the purpose of promoting interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence, and to create cultures of peace and healing for the Earth and all living beings. Their program specific to solving ecological programs is called Cooperation Circles and it focuses on fixing these issues through cooperation instead of violence. Some of their work has included installing solar panels on the roofs of houses of worship, reforestation and native species planting, climate change awareness campaigns, and many more environmentally friendly campaigns. -
Engaged Organization: Alliance of Religions and Conservation
Founded in 1995 and closed in June of 2019, the Alliance of Religions and Conservation worked with multiple faith communities worldwide. They believed that religious organizations have an immense influence on social, educational, political, and cultural issues around the world. This influence makes these organizations one of the most powerful in social changes in society. Therefore, the Alliance of Religions and Conservation worked with religious organizations to care for the environment and use their own unique relationships with the natural world to do so. The work of ARC is carried on by a number of other organizations. -
Engaged Organizations: Carbon Covenant
The Carbon Covenant, a program of Interfaith Power & Light, supports faith communities directly addressing the problem of carbon emissions and deforestation. They currently have programs in Cambodia, Cameroon, Ghana, and Tanzania that work with small villages in these areas to reduce illegal logging. In Ghana, the program is known as Trees& Eco-Clubs that supports Presbyterian youth programs by teaching them about trees and deforestation. In Tanzania, the program is known as Trees of Kilimanjaro and they are supported by the Lutheran church and work to plant trees near Mt. Kilimanjaro. In Cameroon, the program focuses on establishing interfaith collaboration between Christians and Muslims to plant trees and is knows as Interfaith Collaboration. The last project is known as Monk Patrol in Cambodia and helps Buddhist eco-monks in their daily work to stop illegal deforestation. -
Enagaged Orginazation: Technology for the Poor
Technology for the Poor is a non-profit, charitable organization started by the current president, Dr. Job Ebenezer. Based on the philosophy of George Washington Carver, their work strives to serve communities by providing them with sustainable technologies. These sustainable technologies include human powered energy systems, urban agriculture, and sustainable building technologies. Specific examples of their work includes a dual-purpose bicycle, wind energy generators, low-cost construction techniques, and container gardening. Dr. Ebenezer’s container gardens have made it much easier for urban buildings, such as churches and community buildings, to have their own gardens. -
Crown Point Ecology Center
Crown Point is an ecology center in Bath, Ohio. Their mission is to demonstrate the applications of ecology and connect them to spirituality, social justice, and environmental protection. They work to be a role model for food security and sustainable land use through farm stewardship, advocacy, and education. Their goals and mission are achieved by integrating their four core values into everyday life. Their four core values include community, justice, spirituality, and sustainability. -

The Evangelic Lutheran Church in America offers downloadable resources to help encourage others to care for creation. The resources include Hunger & Climate Change, Awakening to God’s Call to Earthkeeping, Poverty and Hunger in a Changing Climate, and more. -
Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service
Since 1939, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service has welcomed more than 379,000 refugees to the United Stated. They believe their work to be driven by God’s love for all people and a vision for congregations to be welcoming and generous centers for mission and ministry. Their work includes responding to people caught in conflict and facing persecution, advocating for their needs and interests, helping people access resources for basic human needs, working with foster care programs for minors, legal assistance, developing new and innovative service programs and partnerships, and much more. -

The Black Swamp Green Team is a collaboration of faith communities, advocacy groups, non-profit entities, and individuals engaged in promoting and practicing good creation care in Bowling Green, Ohio. This team has become a “Regional Partner” with Ohio IPL with a common mission to address climate change. -
Faith in Public Life
Faith in Public Life is a center for advancing faith in the public square. They take on the role of empowering religious leaders to fight for social justice and the common good. They are also involved with the role of faith in politics because of their media expertise and campaign developments. -
Ohio Faith in Public Life
Faith in Public Life has many goals and programs in Ohio because of its’ important role in politics and diversity in faith communities. One of their main goals is combating climate change. They believe transitioning Ohio to a clean energy state is a moral necessity and are working towards unfreezing the renewable energy standard. -
Diocese of Southern Ohio goes Green
By the end of May, The Diocese of Southern Ohio will have all of their buildings powered by 100% renewable energy. These buildings include Procter Center, Diocesan House, Gabriel’s Place, and the Latino Ministry Center in Forest Park. The diocese will be saving over $1,400 annually along with reducing their carbon footprint. -
Engaged Organization: The Dream Corps
The Dream Corps is a social justice organization, designed to reach across racial, social, and partisan lines to create a future with freedom and dignity for all. The founder, Van Jones, is scheduled as the keynote speaker at the Midwest Regional Sustainability Summit held in June in Cincinnati. They support economic, environmental, and criminal justice leaders in order to tackle America’s social justice challenges. Their slogan is “21st-century jobs, not jail." Initiatives include #YESWECODE, #CUT50, and Green for All. -
Engaged Organizations: Cincinnati Climate Change Task Force
In 2009, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati signed on to the St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation. Since then, they have started their own Climate Change Task Force. This task force has adopted the mission of committing themselves to work towards a sustainable world based off of the responsibility to Care for God’s Creation. They work to implement the five pillars of the pledge: praying, learning, assessing, acting, and advocating for the environment and the poor. -
Food Steward’s Pledge
The EPA is engaging faith communities on the issues of climate change and food shortages. Many people do not have access to enough nutritional food to have a healthy lifestyle. On the flip side, there are huge amounts of food that are simply wasted every day in the United States. The EPA is hoping to bridge this gap by reaching out to faith communities and helping spread the message of reducing food waste. -
Green Justice Congregations
Sustainability and becoming “green” are more than just simple actions. Many people believe that to truly achieve environmental stewardship, the culture and how we look at things needs to be changed. The United Church of Christ has provided a resource to help faith communities make this change. Their program can be adopted by anyone who wants to help make an impact in their own community. -

Restoring Eden is a website dedicated to provided information and tips on how to be more environmentally conscious. It’s full of resources, news, and events to help get faith communities involved in their cause. -
Creation Care Study Program
This program pushes students into learning all about the environment in order to protect it. The lessons and missions are meant to be faith based, as students are learning about The Lord’s creations and how to care for them.
