"Virginia Interfaith Power & Light (VAIPL) is the state affiliate of a national organization, Interfaith Power & Light, which is dedicated to bringing together all faith communities to mobilize a religious response to climate change through energy conservation, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.

VAIPL was originally founded in 2004, and was relaunched in 2015 by a group of dedicated board leaders. VAIPL is a community responding to climate change by gathering, sharing, and advocating ecological wisdom through interfaith collaboration on behalf of current and future generations. VAIPL strives to empower all faith communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia to achieve sustainable living.

VAIPL has over 4,000 active supporters across the state of Virginia and has engaged with more than 200 faith communities and congregations. Our work focuses on providing faith communities with the resources and tools that they need to act on climate and encouraging faith communities to speak out on the issue of climate change by advocating for climate justice."
