Prescott Community Compost Project
Abstract
Honorable Mention of the Sustainability Photo Contest.
"Prescott Community Compost Project (PCCP) volunteers working hard to process over 2,500 lbs of food scraps at a "compost pile build" workday in Prescott, Arizona. Food scraps are collected by PCCP from community members weekly, then volunteers gather to chop and mix the material collected. Doing this they divert literal tons resources from the landfill. Compost builds healthy soil and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Community compost programs encourage people to engage with each other while learning about circular food and waste systems."
